Composer Mehdi Hosseini has been appointed Chairman of the Jury for the inaugural 2025 Ningde Composition Camp in China. The international initiative has announced a global call for orchestral works, inviting composers under the age of 36 to submit their scores for consideration.
The project, set against the inspiring coastal landscapes of Ningde, Fujian Province, aims to foster international musical exchange and support the creation of new orchestral music. Five selected composers will be invited to a fully-funded residency in China, where their new works, inspired by the local nature, will be premiered by the prestigious Hangzhou Philharmonic Orchestra.
This role continues Hosseini’s dedicated involvement in shaping the future of contemporary music through mentorship and international cultural collaboration.
